A former employee of the U.S. Postal Service is accused of stealing from her post office in Wayne County.
According to the U.S. Attorney William Hochul’s Office , Jennifer Passeck was indicted by a federal grand jury last week on a two counts, embezzlement by a postal employee and theft of government funds. The charges carry a maximum of 10 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
From March 2013 to March 2015, authorities allege that Passeck, while serving as the relief postmaster at the Sodus Point post office, stole “stamps, money orders and post office box rental payments totaling $19,504.”
Passeck is scheduled to be arraigned in front of U.S. Magistrate Judge Marian W. Payson at 9 a.m. Friday.
