WESTFORD, Mass. — Residents of one Westford neighborhood haven’t received mail for a week. The reason they were given is that a dead tree branch makes the route too dangerous for the postman.
USPS said they were making this decision out of an abundance of caution. A tree branch that residents say has been dead for years has recently become a concern,
“It’s probably been that way for some time now. I don’t really look up at branches so i don’t really know but it doesn’t seem very threatening to me,” one resident said.
The Post Office said there are no plans to resume delivery in the neighborhood until the branch in question is cut down.
