Appalachian District recently celebrated the opening of its first two Village Post Offices (VPOs) – both in the same town.

“It’s my pleasure to welcome the newest additions to our postal family,” said Acting District Marketing Manager Cynthia Coles. “Not only are they the first VPOs in the district, but possibly the first twins in the Postal Service’s VPO network.”

The new VPOs are located in two convenience stores operated by Matt and Lisa Hundley. The nearby Henry, VA, Post Office, which was evaluated under the Post Plan and currently is open four hours a day, is located between the two VPOs.

There currently are 175 VPOs in the country. VPOs offer products and services that customers use most often — including Forever stamps, Pre-paid Priority Mail Flat Rate envelopes and PO Box service
