Pennsylvania has two new Village Post Offices (VPOs) — one in Salix and the other in Cowanshannock, PA.
The VPO in Salix is located in an apartment complex and operated by the management company’s owner. The other VPO is located in a year-round campground’s general store.
“VPOs operate in non-Postal Service establishments — such as existing businesses, town halls, government centers — or campground general stores,” said Western Pennsylvania District Retail Manager Karen Scott. The Cowanshannock VPO is district’s third.
Scott said VPOs provide a range of services, including accepting mail and selling First-Class Forever stamps and Priority Mail products. “They’re another way for the Postal Service to meet its customers’ needs,” she said.
