USPS investigating package explosion in Alameda CA

ALAMEDA, Calif. (KTVU) – An investigation is underway in Alameda after a package exploded at a home, where a police officer possibly lives.

A neighbor says the package was delivered to the home of an off-duty officer who noticed the package had wires coming out of it. He threw it into the street where it exploded, injuring a female who was in the area.

Authorities will not say exactly where the explosion happened, but neighbors tell us it is near Lilac Street and Oleander Avenue on Bay Farm Island of Alameda.

The Postal Service inspector confirms the package was delivered to the home by the USPS.

  1. dumb cop, you’d think a person with law enforcement training would know what to do when encountered a suspicious looking package.
