Rep. Lujan Grisham Announces Official OIG Investigation Into Claims Of Fraud, Mismanagement And Facility Issues At Albuquerque USPS

Congresswoman Michelle Lujan Grisham (NM-01)

10/19/18 I’m extremely pleased that after continued advocacy on behalf of Albuquerque’s USPS customers and calls from members of the American Postal Workers Union, the USPS Inspector General has called for an investigation to look into fraud and neglected facilities. USPS district managers and the Inspector General must conduct a thorough investigation and work to remedy these issues immediately. This was a hard-earned and critical step to ensuring the safety and productivity of employees, and quality mail service for Albuquerque residents.

  1. I was MDO secretary at Broadway USPS facility from 1995 to 2001! I filed complaints of Abuse, Assaults, Violations with APWU, EEO, EEOC, but nobody helped me. I was forced onto Disability Retirement 2001. The USPS destroyed my health, career & Life! Former MDO Marty Stevens reported abuses by MANAGEMENT he observed against me! Postal Inspectors caught SUPVs & Mgrs downloading PORN! two previous secretaries committed SUICIDE due to Hostile VILE work environment t. They only had meetings to discuss Piece of PIE Bonuses by inflicting violations against Workers! I took NOTES! I was THERE! nearly killed me and sexually assaulted me! RECORDS prove me! I have written to Hector Balderdas and many others OVER YEARS! I am NOT a come lately VICTIM to make recent accusations! Call me a whistle-blower skeptical of FAKE worker protections! I Paid terrible price to FIGHT BACK! I doubt I will hear anything from anybody this time either? FYI, the OSHA always informed ahead that they would inspect – so workers were ordered to clean & clear to pass sudden OSHA? A SHAME! Sincerely Joyce Byers, former MDO secretary (#MeToo).

  2. It is about time. Congress should conduct investigations
nationwide to expose these toolbags who are running
the PO into the ground. Waste, fraud, lying, cheating are
the only things these mismanagers and stupidvisors know
how to do. FIRE THEM ALL…

  3. Rep. Grisham will be infuratied when USPS simply refutes, denies, disagree & ignores OIG results. Oig has constantly found fault in USPS behavior. They don’t have enforcement powers. Simply Chihuahua oversight.

  4. Big Deal. The Office of Incompetent Goofballs IS an arm of mgmt and just as useless. Nothing they come up with is acted on by mgmt.

  5. District and the Inspector General to investigate? Boy, that’ll settle everything in a hurry. What part of management being the root cause of all the malfeasance and piss poor service is it the good Congresswoman doesn’t understand? You do not ask the offenders to police themselves. It’s like large police departments and their infamous internal affairs departments “investigating” police corruption.
Of course, asking politicians to investigate wrong doing is kind of pointless in and of itself. The only thing that might happen is that a token supervisor or two might get the boot, and a higher up might get relocated. Of course, management will blame everything on the craft. That argument in itself is a hollow one because it’s management’s job to make sure craft employees do their work as expected, and don’t cry “union” to me. Smart managers know that the contracts are not fail safes, and that if they paid some damn attention and studied the contracts, they’d know how to deal with problematic workers. But that would take effort and brains. Again, the smart ones probably know the lost cause when they see one and work for one, so they don’t really want to be the sacrificial lamb, and I certainly can’t blame them.
A thorough investigation needs to be conducted coast to coast, in every Area and District office, starting at USPS Headquarters by independent investigators not part of the postal service and honest enough to refuse bribes and allow USPS officials to lie and kiss ass to get away with business as usual. But who would come up with this kind of body? Congress? Now you get it.
