2015 USPS Plant Consolidation Schedule Updated August 13

By Don Cheney The plant consolidation schedule for 2015 was updated August 13, 2014 at https://ribbs.usps.gov/. With the switch to 24-hour plant operations, most jobs in the gaining facilities will likely be reposted. Parking will be scarce during the tour overlaps. Maintenance people will have a big challenge keeping the machines running continuously and the floors clean.

Notes from USPS webinar on Network Rationalization Phase 2

David Williams, USPS VP Network Operations, webinar on Network Rationalization Phase 2 today (thanks to a PostalReporter.com reader).  USPS will begin consolidating the outgoing-originating mail on January 10, 2015 and schedule will be finalized in October 1.  The number of plants will shrink from 319 to 239 (80, not 82, are closing).
