USPS Employees walk to stamp out breast cancer

More than 100 Mid-Carolinas District employees, family and friends recently participated in the annual “Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure” in Charlotte, NC.

Festivities began at 6 a.m., followed by a “Survivor Breakfast” and a group photograph. Most of the attendees then joined the “5K Recreational Walk” around downtown Charlotte in celebration National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Charlotte P&DC Data Collection Technician Tashennia Ware and General Clerk Rob Webber organized the voluntary event. “Everyone participating in the walk has had someone close to them diagnosed with breast cancer,” said Ware. “It’s a battle we fight alongside those we love and care about. The Race for the Cure is just one way we can show our support.”
