The Postal Service’s Preferred Fueling Network, featuring negotiated discounts with regional and national truck stop chains, has generated more than $15 million in savings for the Postal Service.
In 2010, USPS established a network of specific fueling locations offering discounted fuel pricing for all USPS Highway Contractor and postal-owned vehicle Fleet credit card users at designated fueling locations.
The truck stop and unleaded gas station chains offering discounts are:
- Pilot / Flying J: This preferred network company has more than 500 stations across the nation. Pilot / Flying J stations account for nearly 80 percent of the discount pricing that Highway Contract Routes receive.
- Wilco, Sheetz and Wawa: These regional suppliers have nearly 1,000 locations primarily in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.
