USPS Suspends Some Operations in Alabama Following Hurricane Michael

Birmingham, AL — The Postal Service has restored mail delivery and retail services to most Alabama customers affected by Hurricane Michael. Postal operations continue to recover as quickly as it is safe to do so.
All Post Offices, with the exception of the following, have resumed normal operations:

  • Columbia Post Office, 106 N Main St, Columbia, AL 36319-3628
  • Cottonwood Post Office, 53 Joe Cook St, Cottonwood, AL 36320-4283
  • Cowarts Post Office, 2935 Jordon Ave, Cowarts, AL 36321-4219
  • Pansey Post Office, 14021 E US 84, Pansey, AL 36370-4054
  • Webb Post Office, 175 Kirkland St, Webb AL 36376-5295

Customers may get information on delivery and retail services in their location by visiting www.usps.com and clicking the “Service Alert” bar at the top. The site is updated as recovery continues.

“Postal employees continue to make every effort to provide service as soon as possible to all of our customers wherever we can ensure the safety of our customers and employees,” said Alabama District Manager Susan Aronson. “We sincerely appreciate our customers’ understanding and cooperation as we continue to recover from the storm.”
