22-yr-old charged with South Carolina postal worker’s murder

An arrest has been made after a U.S. Postal Service rural mail carrier was shot to death earlier this week in South Carolina.

Trevor Raekwon Seward, 22, was arrested early Saturday morning, Sept. 28, on a charge of murder, according to the Williamsburg County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Williamsburg County Sheriff Stephen Gardner on Saturday, Seward is believed to be responsible for the death of Irene Pressley, 64, on the afternoon of Monday, Sept. 23.

The U.S. Postal Service said Pressley was found dead inside her vehicle along her mail route on Morrisville Road north of Andrews that afternoon.

Ultimately, it was a fingerprint located on a piece of mail at the scene that Wiliamsburg County investigators say tied Seward to the crime.

A forensic analysis determined the fingerprint to be Seward’s, according to an arrest warrant provided Saturday by the sheriff’s office.

That warrant also says investigators believe Seward shot Pressley multiple times with a semi-automatic rifle, based upon a witness statement claiming Seward was seen in the areawith an “AR-15”-type rifle a short time before the incident.
