USPS issued the following statement to employees:
Certainly this is a very sad and somber time for all of us in Mississippi. It is very difficult when we suddenly lose a member of our postal family particularly during the performance of their duties, said District Manager Elizabeth Johnson. “Our thoughts and sympathies go out to Cloy’s family and friends, especially those who worked alongside him in serving our customers.
It’s also a reminder,” Johnson added,”that life-altering events can happen to us anywhere, anytime, and we must all be vigilant at work and at home to stay safe.
