The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a personal injury pedestrian collision.
On June 25, 2014 at approximately 11:00 AM, Deputies responded to the 20700 block of Keadle Road, Boonsboro, in reference to a struck pedestrian.
A US Postal Service vehicle was stopped on the southbound shoulder of Keadle Road. The postal carrier exited the vehicle, walked to the front of the vehicle and proceeded to step into the roadway. The postal carrier stepped into the path of an on-coming Subaru Forester, which was traveling southbound on Keadle Road.
The postal carrier suffered serious injury to her leg and was airlifted to Shock Trauma in Baltimore for medical treatment.
The driver of the vehicle was unharmed.
Her medical condition is unknown at this time.
The investigation into the incident is on-going.
