HANOVER TWP. – A mail carrier on a delivery run was left unconscious and taken to the hospital after her postal truck was hit from behind by a car driven by a Plainfield man at about 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 23.

The postal worker, a 34-year-old woman, was in the cargo area shifting mail.

The crash caused the woman to be thrown toward the front of the truck.

She regained consciousness at the scene but appeared to be in shock. She was transported to Morristown Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver told police he was blinded by sun glare and didn’t see the truck until the last second. He was issued a summons for careless driving.
