Thief speeds off in Kansas City postal carrier's mail vanKANSAS CITY, Mo. —Kansas City police are investigating after a thief sped off with a postal carrier’s mail van.

It happened at 11:20 a.m. Friday in the 300 block of Park Avenue.

Police said the postal carrier had left the mail van unlocked and running, when a man wearing a multicolored stocking cap and gray hooded jacket jumped in and drove off.

Officers spotted the mail van at 31st and Cherry streets and pursued it, but backed off when the driver’s speeds started to increase. Read more
