FORT WORTH, TX — U.S. Postal Service employees in facilities in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan and Texas Panhandle areas affected by severe winter weather will be working around-the-clock to process and deliver mail for our customers.

All Post Offices are expected to be open for business normal hours, unless closed due to inaccessibility because of road conditions or power outages.

In those locations where roads are impassable or unsafe for travel due to closure by local emergency officials, mail delivery services may be temporarily curtailed until normal conditions are restored. Those customers who are unable to receive mail delivery may pick up mail at their local delivery Post Office.

Postal residential and business customers are asked to clear their mailbox area of snow, sleet, slush, ice and debris, including nearby sidewalks, steps and porches.

If mailboxes are blocked off and conditions are difficult, letter carriers must always consider safety and accessibility first. Letter carriers are instructed to not deliver to mailboxes and locations which are too hazardous to access. Read more

USPS: A winter storm is bringing freezing rain to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. As a result of icy road conditions, delivery service may be impacted. Please check for updates about possible early closures.

  1. The week of February 22, we had mail delivery 1 day, on the 25th. It is now March 5 and we only had delivery 1 day, on March 2. I don’t think that the USPS cares, and I don’t think that there is anything we can do about it. Even on days when the schools are operating there is no mail delivery.

  2. The U.S. postal service is the worst delivery service provider. FEDEX and UPS made their deliveries in areas where the USPS did not. They need to just privatize the system and maybe we’ll have mail on time.
