Homestead man sues U.S. after being struck by mail truck
A Homestead man sued the U.S. government today, saying a mail truck hit him three years ago and broke his ankle
Leon Dorsey, 52, said a truck driven by Mark Vesci was driving the wrong way on Sylvan Avenue in Homestead on Jan. 23, 2012 when it hit him and kept going.
Police said at the time they were looking for the driver in a hit and run. The next day, Mr. Vesci spoke with police in Homestead and said he did not hit Mr. Dorsey. According to a police report, he saw Mr. Dorsey on the ground but thought he was “playing games” in a scheme to get money, so he kept driving.
