CHAGRIN FALLS, Ohio Was a local postal carrier delivering more than just the mail?
He faces charges, accusing him of using drugs on the job.
Bennie James Motley III, 20, of Maple Heights was charged Tuesday with drug trafficking, theft and possessing marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Police say he was a postal carrier, working out of the branch in Chagrin Falls. Investigators say on February 12th, his supervisors called Chagrin Falls police, suspecting him of using drugs, possibly while on the job.
Him and the supervisors detected a strong odor of marijuana and believe that it was stronger when he returned from his route than it was when he appeared for work that day, which he was also late for work that day, said Sgt. Kim Libens.
Police officers went to the post office to question him. They say he returned from his route two and a half hours late.
David Van Allen, a spokesman for the United States Postal Service says Bennie Motley was hired about three months ago, but he is no longer working, pending the outcome of the case. Read more
He is a good person. People make mistakes , he is young and he will learn. Pray for him instead of trying to make things worst for our young community.
Real smart. See what happens when we start paying low wages and some newbies have no sense of real training or responsibility to their job. Since the CCA program began there has been a huge amount of turnover practically nationwide. Even in our small office
Allow me to finish my comment before posting it, postalreporter.com. I was saying the turnover for CCA’s is huge and indicative of what we’ll be dealing with in the future.
Even in our relatively small office we’ve seen CCA’s and whatever the equivalent of the clerk position is come in, some doing well, and others having a piss poor attitude from day one. Two were practically badgered out by a bullying supervisor, but the others thought they could just show up whenever it was convenient, do a shitty job and then think the USPS owed them something special just for showing up.
That’s what your paycheck is for.
This idiot even looks like he thought he was so damn smart he could do whatever he wanted. I know there will always be some bad apples, but it seems like this attitude is getting worse all the time. I’m old school, consider being a letter carrier a job with lots of responsibility and one that actually serves people as opposed to working somewhere in a polluting industry, a sweatshop abuse factory like Wal-Mart, or some horrible factory job. It pays better than I would have gotten in journalism, my college major, and I don’t have to be in that disgusting profession asking people in blizzards if they’re cold.
Management got what they wanted with this cheap labor, and more. The service will get much worse when the next wave of carriers retires in the next year to three or four, after the hiring program from the mid-80’s.
Do Your research. White America is whats ruining the world not this young man trying to do right. He possibly did slip up but only he and his supervisor knows the truth. Not the man/women commenting on web forms. Dont pass judgement, pass blessing.
Its a story for a reason, shit is male belive!
