$1.4 billion Postal Service operating profit for first five months of FY 2015 (greater than operating profit for full FY 2014)
For the fiscal year so far (October 2014-February 2015), the Postal Service has a $1.401 billion operating profit (see ‘Controllable Operating Income (Loss)’ line in the report linked here). This result, for the first 5 months of this fiscal year, exceeds the $1.374 billion operating profit for the entire fiscal 2014 year (see pg. 14 of the 2014 10-K attached here).
Through February, total mail volume is up 0.5 percent and total mail revenue is up 3 percent compared to the same time last year. First-Class Mail revenue is up 3 percent, and First-Class Mail volume is down only -0.7 percent compared to last year. Standard Mail revenue is up 4.5 percent and Standard Mail volume is up 1.4 percent compared to last year. Shipping & Package revenue is up 8.5 percent and volume is up 12 percent compared to last year.
For the month of February 2015, the Postal Service had a $76 million operating profit, down slightly from the results for the same month last year, but a higher result than planned.
With one month left to go in the fiscal second quarter, the Postal Service’s 2Q 2015 results are looking good. Stay tuned. NALC

You can be sure Megan’s henchmen will claim net losses in the billions from the “pre-fund” requirement that they stopped paying three years ago when the APWU’s contract expires and they go to arbitration on the next CBA. At least Potter, bad as he was, negotiated CBA’s with the unions.
We are sleeping very well thank you with all the money we walked away with and the payback jobs we got for the great job we did in setting it up for privatization.
I could have more if I did not have to pay the IRS too. That would be against the law just as not paying the $5 billion is ~~ so the PO is still at a loss.
Even ‘looks’ like a corporation now and then , but still a monopoly of best kind !
so does this mean diamondstein and liz powell will still get us a 1% yearly raise with no additiona benefits of any kind…..28 years and never saw a 2% raise…….shameful. when you figure the corrupt govt hallowed out the COLA formula……we should get 4% this year. all those years with demonKKKats in charge and never more than 1%. remember those lump sums instead of a raise, ask yourself why your pension is s@@t. none of that OT went into pension, TSP or compounded your base pay…….joke was on you. being stupid does have its consequences. I know vote for the demonrat because they are for the little guy….tell that to sen dianne feinstein/hubby blum who are selling the po buildings right out from under you dolts.
This should come in handy during contract time
The two stooges, Potter and Donahoe, would try to explain away the numbers by coming up with manufactured shortages, in keeping with their plan to privatize the postal service. Hope those two clowns can’t sleep at night for trying to stab in the back the very people who made them rich; that is, the people who do the work so they could sit on their asses doing nothing. Good riddance to those two; hope the new one is a hundred times better…she can’t be worse.
