LEWIS COUNTY, MO. —A Lewis County Missouri rural carrier associate was arrested last week on a felony drug charge.

According to Lewis County Sheriff David Parrish, Julie Marie Campbell, 41, of rural Edina, was arrested April 1 on one count of illegal possession of a controlled substance-hydrocodone– a Class C felony.

On April 1, sheriff’s deputies were called to the U.S. Post Office in LaBelle in response to a report that a rural route mail carrier was potentially impaired.

On April 2, Parrish said authorities searched Campbell’s vehicle and found several other prescription medications and opened mail from several Lewis and Knox County residents.
