USPS job fair slated for April 29 at ADA, Oklahoma Post Office – 8 Rural Carrier Associate (RCA) positions immediately available

April 20, 2015 ADA, OK — The U.S. Postal Service will sponsor a free Postal Job Fair at the Ada Post Office, 131 E. 12th Ada, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 29.

The Postal Service is now accepting applications for Rural Carrier Associate (RCA) for the Ada Post Office. The Postal Service will fill up to 8 positions that are available at the Ada Post Office. Scheduled work days for these positions will normally be Saturday, with an average 8-16 hour work week for RCAs.  Salary for the RCA position is $16.26 per hour.

Attorneys

Automotive Mechanic
Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and performs routine repairs and scheduled maintenance on all types of motor vehicles used in the postal fleet.

Automotive Technician
Performs routine and complex repairs and maintenance on all types of motor vehicles used in the postal fleet. Troubleshoots and diagnoses more complex vehicle malfunctions using a variety of computerized test equipment.

City Carrier / City Carrier Assistant (CCA)
Delivers and collects mail on foot or by vehicle under varying road and weather conditions in an assigned area.

Custodian
Performs manual labor duties in connection with custody of an office or building.

Industrial Engineer
Oversees and applies nationwide industrial engineering, standardization, and continuous improvement policies, standards, and processes to improve service and cost performance through direct involvement in mail processing operations.

Mail Handler Assistant (MHA)
Loads, unloads, and moves bulk mail and performs other duties related to mail processing.

Rural Carrier / Rural Carrier Associate (RCA)
Cases, delivers, and collects mail along a rural route using a vehicle. Provide customers on the route with a variety of services.

Tractor Trailer Operator
Operates a heavy duty tractor-trailer either in over-the-road, city shuttle service, or trailer spotting operations.

Employment Requirements

  • 18 years old at the time of appointment or 16 years old with a high school diploma
  • United States citizen, permanent resident, or citizen of American Samoa or other U.S. territory
  • Recent employment history
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and medical assessment
  • Safe driving record (if applicable to the position)
  • Must be registered with Selective Service if applicable
