April 27, 2015 Two people, including a mail carrier (rural carrier associate [RCA])  , were injured when a mail truck and an SUV collided in Washington County Monday, emergency officials said.

Samantha Mueller, 30, of Canonsburg told police she was driving her mail truck along the shoulder of the 1800 block of Route 980 in Cecil around 1:20 p.m. when she started to pull out onto the road, Cecil police Lt. Rich Egizio said.

At the same time, according to Lt. Egizio, Walter Keller III, 46, of Bridgeville was driving his SUV on the same side of the road and struck the mail truck as it was pulling out.

Ms. Mueller was ejected through the truck door but was alert and conscious when police arrived, officials said. She told police she checked her mirrors and activated her turn signal before pulling out onto the road.
