Mail Theft Suspects Arrested
On Thursday, November 5, 2015 at approximately 3:04 p.m., officers conducted a follow-up in reference to mail thefts in the area. The investigation led them to San Bernardino where suspect, 43 year-old Duane Goad was arrested for a no bail warrant (violating terms of his probation). Evidence of identity theft was located and a search warrant was authored for a motel room in the 1300 block of N. E Street in San Bernardino and a second residence in San Bernardino. During the searches, officers located over 500 profiles containing true identities, stolen checks, social security numbers, IP addresses and other financial information. Tools for altering and creating fictitious checks were also located, including printers, computers, black check stock and ink.
Goad’s girlfriend, 23 year-old Brittany Gund and friend 45 year-old Forrest Rowe were also arrested for conspiring to commit mail theft and identity theft. 48 year-old Gregory Osborne was arrested for $1,000,000.00 in arrest warrants.
The US Postal Service was contacted and will conduct follow-up reference counterfeit mail box keys located. Bail enhancements were obtained for Goad, Gund and Rowe for $1,000,000.00.
All four suspects were booked at West Valley Detention Center. Gund, Goad and Rowe face charges for Identify Theft PC 530.5 (C)(3), Receiving Stolen Property PC 496, Check Fraud PC 476 and Conspiracy PC 182. Osborne was arrested for warrants.
