MOBILE, Ala – Another Mobile-area postal worker was sentenced last week for dumping mail on her route. U.S. District Judge Kristi DuBose sentenced Cynthia Dronet, 30, to five years’ probation, with the first six months under home confinement.
Dronet became the latest in a string of local postal workers who have been caught stealing or simply throwing away mail in unrelated cases. Eleven have been prosecuted in Mobile’s federal court since 2008. Questioned by postal inspectors, Dronet admitted what she had done and told authorities that she was having trouble completing her mail route on time.
