Fargo, ND USPS Supervisor pleads guilty to stealing $700 from mail envelope

FARGO — A U.S. Postal Service manager in Fargo has pleaded guilty to stealing $700 in cash from a bank deposit envelope that was accidentally dropped in a mail collection box.

West Virginia PMR sentenced for theft of postal funds

Andrea Marie Eberhardt, 35, of Moorhead was initially charged with felony theft. She entered a plea to a reduced charge of misdemeanor theft and was sentenced Monday, Aug. 15, in Cass County District Court.

Judge Susan Bailey ordered Eberhardt to spend a year on unsupervised probation and to pay $300 in fees.

On Dec. 9, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service received a report that a local customer mistakenly put a Wells Fargo deposit envelope that held $700 into a mail collection box. A postal employee found the envelope and gave it to Eberhardt, according to an investigation report.

On Dec. 10, postal inspectors interviewed Eberhardt, and she admitted she stole the envelope and the money inside, saying she still had $500 of the cash in her truck, the report stated.

  1. What a great supervisor, they probably promoted her. She was so honest. In my eyes she is a scumbag, just saying.
