PLEASANT HILL, Iowa —A postal worker in Pleasant Hill found a child who had wandered away from a nearby day care Thursday.
According to police, the 2-year-old child had been put down for a nap at the Shining Stars Daycare at 1250 NE 56th Street. Police said the child apparently sneaked out of a back door during nap time.
A postal worker just north of the day care heard a child crying and turned to find the toddler wandering in the field behind the post office.
“He noticed a little guy, who was very upset,” Pleasant Hill Post Office customer service manager Sharon Parkison said. “He was crying and really, really under stress. You could tell.”
