Savannah, N.Y. (WHAM) – State Police arrested a U.S. Postal Service (USPS) mail carrier Tuesday for allegedly stealing money out of cards on her route.
According to our news partners at the Times of Wayne County, Lindsay Snyder, 24, is accused of picking out what she believed to be greeting or birthday cards from customers on her route and steal any cash, or gift cards she found.
Postal Inspectors reportedly became suspicious after several complaints were filed. As part of an investigation, they planted three obvious mailings on Snyder’s route. Snyder subsequently opened the cards, according to police, and the case was turned over to the State Police.
Snyder used one of the stolen cards at the Walmart in Newark and reportedly told police she was purchasing “stuff” for her daughter.

One question is why the lazy OIG is turning their case over to the NY State Police when this is their jurisdiction? Local jurisdictions should stop taking cases that are the OIG is responsible for prosecuting!
