VIDEO: Berkeley Calif residents upset over late-night mail deliveries

BERKELEY (KRON) — Late-night mail deliveries are upsetting many neighbors in Berkeley.

The United States Postal Service said it is struggling to make on-time deliveries because of a worker shortage.

Now, the postal service is hoping to add hundreds of people to get back on track

“My mail has been coming like 9:30, 10 o’ clock. It’s been coming really late,” North Berkeley resident Tim Hudson said.

  1. Lots of luck finding enough people willing to work as low paid CCA’s,in a city,in which most apartments sell for close to $1-million a piece. In some cases, more. In addition to this reality, public transportation to super-gentified Berkeley to less affluent Bay Area cities(for example, Oakland or Richmond);could be more than $12.00 R/T. And,it numerous transfers between trains, busses and horribly inefficient MUNI Light-Rail.

  2. Time to demote some of the stupidvisors to carriers, treat the employees with respect, and sell the scanners! The time and funds used to discipline employees should instead be used to provide service!
