Greenville, N.C. A former Fayetteville postal carrier who was receiving worker’s compensation payments after injuring herself on the job pleaded guilty to fraud in federal court Monday.
Cathy Wrench Cashwell’s claim that she couldn’t lift mail trays into a truck due to a 2004 on-the-job shoulder injury was called into question in September 2009 when she appeared on “The Price is Right” and spun the “big wheel” twice.
According to an indictment filed in September 2012, Cashwell “raised her left arm above her head and gripped the handle with her left hand.” On a second spin, she “raised both arms above her head and gripped the same handle with both hands.”

I’m very sure there is more to this story!! This lady I’m sure does more at home for her personal care than spinning a wheel plus a few other acts caught on video. I would have never plead guilty. Should have made the govt take u to trial. If she has a high restitution, that can be cut down even if she is found guilty. The govt has to prove that she wasn’t entitled to her benefits absent the fraud. That’s the law for govt benefits. You are so scared you will agree to anything. The govt wants a plea deal. You can’t ever appeal with a plea. If she did the price is right in 2009, they intentionally let her rack up benefit payments for 3-4 more years. As soon as post office was aware or inspectors, they should have revealed evidence and give her an option to resign and discontinue benefits. Waste of taxpayer money paying investigators and now the lawyer and court.
