WASILLA — A sexual harassment investigation of the former Wasilla postmaster recommended that he be ousted, and now he has a new Postal Service job as a custodian in Anchorage at substantially less pay.
Eric Schuler, originally hired by the U.S. Postal Service in 1997, left the postmaster job at a $100,658 salary in December, according to a spokesman. Schuler remained on unpaid administrative leave until this month.
Schuler’s change in jobs followed an August 2016 proposed removal notice he received from the Postal Service’s Alaska district human resources manager.
According to the 12-page document issued last year, Schuler made inappropriate comments laden with sexual innuendo to an employee and hugged and kissed a job candidate behind a locked door.
Former Wasilla postmaster demoted to custodian after investigation upholds harassment claims
To bad I don’t work there, I might just take a crap on the floor.
Tell him “no worries” we have an MDO that was demoted to PTF clerk. And now he is the Lead Maintenance Manager in Portland. All he did was put his personal vehicle on a postal credit card.
Who is going to be the new PM? Sarah Palin
LOL… few years later, he is going to be a 204b
He should have been jailed, not demoted, how he still has a job is sad.
It said he kissed a candidate behind close doors, was it a man or a lady?
What a loser,
As a career custodian (35 years) I have seen dirt bags from every craft dumped into our once all Veteran Craft, everyone that was disciplined, every lazy loser, every one of them dumped in our craft as if we do not rate in the Postal Service. And yes even as a Veteran they will try and fire you for a minor infraction, while management gets away with stealing, sexual harassment, intimidation, the list goes on and on, get rid of 50 percent of management and the problem would be solved, top heavy and useless is what they are, no wonder the Postal Service is a joke to most customers.
27 1/2 years here, I will not make 30. That little light at the end of the tunnel is now able to be seen. It is real dim but it is there. I cannot wait to get out of this place.
LOCK HIM UP
Why they don’t just fire these losers is beyond me…that low-life is taking a legitimate job away from a veteran by being allowed to stay here…just sayin’…
You can be sure after a year or so if he keeps his nose clean they will put him back in management. In the meantime he will be the highest paid custodian in the PO at $100,000/year until then.
What happened to ZERO tolerance ? Or does that just apply to the craft?
Yes, craft only.
I have seen so many people get promoted by sleeping with the big shots. Then you have to take orders from an incompetent twit, who has a seedy background that no one respects.
Why does a scumbag like this get a demotion while craft employees would get fired? Answer is quite simple: all veterans (I don’t know if he is one) and all EAS (which would include him) are protected by MSPB. The threshold to fire someone protected by MSPB is really high. Meanwhile, for those of us protected by our contract is protected by just cause, which is no where near as high as MSPB’s, but way higher than say Walmart employees. Just cause asks six simple questions, is there a rule, is the rule a reasonable rule, does the employee know the rule, is the rule equally and evenly enforced and is there progression in discipline? MSPB has the Douglas Factors, which is 12 questions, and off hand, I don’t even recall any of them, but the individual has to hire an attorney. USPS generally knows they will lose at MSPB and will settle with a last chance agreement, which I suspect is what this joker got. Hope this clarifies the issue at hand. At least, a little.
EAS employees who are not vets do not have access to the MSRB,however, their organization,NAPS got into the latest reform bill that all EAS employees can use the MSPB.
if he had been a craft employee he could have been fired in accordance with the published “rules of conduct”
Why does someone in management only get demoted when they have such charges ? But craft employees with the same charges get fired . I worked for the Postal Service for 36 1/2 years and saw this happen continuously . Disciplinary actions should be straight across-the-board for all employees.
because craft employees are on the bottom rung of the ladder whereas those in management are a rung or 2 above so thye have somewhere lower to go
Too bad! He should have been forced to be “promoted” to the job of a CCA. Then he would be given the royal treatment.
