USPS mail truck involved in crash in Maryland; 1 dead, 2 injured

3/29/2018 (LARGO, MD) – Maryland State Police troopers are investigating a fatal crash in Prince George’s County that claimed the life of one man and sent four other individuals to the hospital.

The identification of the deceased is pending next of kin notification. He was the driver and sole occupant of a GMC pickup truck involved in the crash.  Emergency medical service personnel pronounced him deceased at the scene.

The other four victims involved in the crash were transported by ambulance from the scene to Prince George’s Hospital. Their identities have not yet been confirmed.

Shortly after 5:30 p.m. today, Maryland state troopers from the Forestville Barrack responded to calls for a crash on Route 202, Largo Road, at Wood Branch Court. Responding troopers found three vehicles, including a USPS mail truck, a GMC pickup and a Dodge Ram pickup involved in the crash.

The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of the GMC pickup crossed the center line and struck a white Dodge Ram head-on. A USPS mail truck traveling behind the Dodge Ram was unable to stop to avoid crashing into the two trucks. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Troopers from the Forestville Barrack and La Plata Barrack responded to the scene.  Police from the Prince George’s County Police Department also responded to assist, along with EMS personnel from Prince George’s County.

All lanes of Route 202 between White House Road and Route 193 were closed for three hours due to the investigation.  Personnel from the Maryland Department of Transportation, State Highway Administration assisted with lane closures and detours. The investigation continues..

  1. Given the facts I don’t why USPS would waste their time. I guess when your
    dealing with USPS it is like the latest version of the twilight zone. Where common
    sense goes out the window and all hell brakes lose.

  2. I would bet a thousand to one that the toolbags in
    charge of the PO driver will try to discipline her/him.
    Anything to fire a career employee and hire three
    slugs to replace them. Seen it a million times.
