Acting Jamaica Postmaster Paul Stremel told members of Community Board 10 last Thursday that one of the reasons people are not getting their mail in a timely fashion is that some carriers just don’t want to show up to work.
“They don’t like to come to work. A lot of them, they don’t have the work ethic,” Stremel said. “It’s not important to them.”
Other carriers must then complete those routes, which results in people getting mail late in the evening, sometimes past 7 p.m.
Addressing other bad workers, Stremel said union rules protect certain workers from being terminated after just one incident.
“They get a couple of bites of the apple before we can get rid of them,” he said.
The acting postmaster’s appearance at CB 10 came as residents across the borough are still complaining of missing or late mail deliveries, an issue that has been prevalent since the beginning of the year.
The new hires are lazy, they cant put the phones away long enough to do any work, the end is near glad I only have a few years to go.
The Postmaster should spend less time eating donuts. Looks like he ate them with an electric fork. Couldn’t shovel them in fast enough. Hit the street and run the route like you expect a CCA to do.
The Postmaster is correct. Plus, having worked for him, he’s one of the best and brightest. The problem is that the PO hires anyone, regardless of any actual qualifications. Clearly, there is a lack of work ethic, particularly amongst new hires, who are generally in the 20–25 age range.
I wonder if this dooche knows that IOD PMG Muffin Meghan Brennen went on limited duty within first 6 months of being a letter carrier………..maybe the “lazy bums” in Jamaica, NY want to be like the lazy bum in Washington, DC! Hey Paul Stremel why don’t start treating the letters carriers. Routes are too long and purposely understaffed for your bonus. A Lard Ass like you will not last one second doing this job.

After 30 years as a carrier it’s difficult to listen to some fat slob in a cheap polyester suit with a bad haircut and goofy goatee that resembles a used toilet brush. I suspect he carried for about 4 months and the realized it was easier to kiss butt and sit at a desk fiddling with pencils and playing pocket pool than actually going out on the street and having to expend the energy it takes to read mail. In his defense he probably can’t read. Two words for you fat boy: salad bar.
So Mr. Stremel, how many Dunkin’ Donuts are there within a mile of the Jamaica Main Post Office and which ones are co-branded with Baskin-Robbins?
Maybe they don’t like listening to douch*bags like you, maybe they don’t like being treating to another sample of “superior being, idiot type relationship’s speech”, maybe they don’t like a multi-billion dollar company being run by a bunch of mouth breathing imbeciles who couldn’t pass a GED test. Carriers hate to go to a work place where they are treated badly! Like idiots, like stupid misbehaved children who are told over and over how to do things as if we have no commonsense at all. Treated like criminals when the true criminal is the Manager in charge! When carriers lose all respect for there over powering BOSS, why would they want to do a good job?

who wanted the new hiring policies that resulted in a 50
to 60 percent turnover rate. It was Management that wanted
new/idiotic delivery standards. It was Management that reduced
the workforce by 50%. It was Management who hired new Stupidvisors
and mismanagers who cannot get the job done. It was management
that reduced the amount of window clerks, carriers and other jobs.
Don’t put the blame on overworked, stressed, harassed workers who do more with less. If it wasn’t for the craft employees nothing would get done.

Why don’t you try treating your workers better maybe they will come in. Make the routes a little shorter. Quit understaffing the office intentionally for a bonus for you LARD ASS. NMH unhide yourself. There is solutions for your needs. Stop hiring people not qualified in the first place to handle our customers Valuables and mail. If the employee wouldn’t qualified time ago, why are they being hired for chump change and their bad habits are present.

Well Mr Postmaster, Maybe the employees don’t like being treated like sh#t. I was carrier many years. I saw how the craft employees were treated. Like sh3t.I myself had a few bad memories. So you have the nerve to place all the blame on the low life dirt. And as for the CCA craft, with the low pay and heavy work load. And the CCA’s don’t have much hope of becoming a career employee. I remember one day the temperature was 21 degrees below zero, and yes we were forced out Mr. Postmaster. A woman carrier came down with frost bite. She was put up for removal, unsafe work practice. Another employee was accused with being a liar and lazy because he couldn’t work as well as he could in the past. Turns out he was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. And what happens when management is caught doing wrong? They are promoted to higher level. I have been out 14 years and will never visit the place I worked at. I just remembered in 2014 in Oakland, Ca. a clerk was found on the concrete floor with blood coming out his ears at the Postal plant. The Postal Service took twenty minutes to call EMS. Postal management was busy cuddling donuts. The clerk was the last thing on their mind. If the postal Service goes under many in management can always become prison guards.
WHY those carriers don’t want to report should be investigated. It will trickle down to abuse by supervision
Why don’t you report on the disgraceful behavior at the Mendell Carrier Annex in San Francisco, where they regularly take mail, dump it, steal it, whatever, don’t deliver it, do not honor mail-holds, do not honor Premium Forwarding Service orders (even though USPS continues to charge customers for the service), and then tell customers there’s nothing they can do, too bad for them?
Why don’t you report on the USPS OIG, which literally claims it’s not their job to investigate fraud, corruption and theft on the part of the USPS and its employees?
The USPS is a joke, and the faster it goes bankrupt and goes out of business, the better. They literally STOLE my tax refund check, and no one will do anything about it. 6 weeks of my mail was dumped somewhere, and they literally refuse to investigate. They won’t even ask the carrier what he did with it.
Just show them the proof of your claims and it will all be over. Sounds like you have it all figured out!
your rambling shows me that you are not a letter carrier or work at the post office. this downfall began in 2006, google it POTUS Bush & Postmaster Potter signed a bill that has lead to the continues downfall of the post office. Wake up fool and learn and read the history of the post office. Better yet they are hiring, tell them you want to be a inner city letter carrier, you’ll stop all that crying. We carriers work our ass off walking 8 to 10 miles per day. Post Office management in 2018 is totally responsible for the state of the post office today, not the ground level workers. wake up cry baby!
