Mail Truck Pulled from Warinanco Park NJ Pond

7/5/2018 ELIZABETH/ROSELLE/LINDEN, NJ — Police, fire and rescue units responded to a U.S. Mail truck that apparently drove head-first into the pond in Warinanco Park on Thursday afternoon.

Sometime after 2 p.m. responders were called to the scene to find the mail truck in the water. A park worker said that while he did not see the truck go into the water, he did arrive just in time to see someone who he believed to be a former Linden police officer help the postal worker out of the truck and through the water to the bank. The worker said the officer just happened to be coming through the park when the incident happened.

After he was put in an ambulance, the mail truck driver burst through the ambulance doors only to be put back inside by police. He was transported to the hospital.
