HUNTS POINT – Local leaders gathered at the Hunts Point post office to advocate for postal banking.
The group was at the office as they attempted to drop off a petition to reinstate banking services. Up until the mid-1960s, if someone wanted to drop off a letter there, they could also go inside and drop off money to deposit too.
Since then, post offices have only offered limited financial services like money orders and U.S. Treasury check cashing.
One post office worker says a post office offers a more secure and trusted place to go for those services. The 42-year post office veteran helped collect 5,000 signatures for the petition.
God help anyone who feels postal clerks are capable of handling banking transactions. Oh, they can handle your deposit but it will probably go into the wrong account.
Would you trust the toolbag mismanagers and stupidvisors
with your money? Ask the craft employees if they would.
Fire all the toolbags first. Get some real management in place
first.
Restarting the Postal Savings Bank would serve the people in the nation. The low income city residents and the citizens in rural areas would be served at low cost. Many would be against the idea. They think business should be able to make as much as they want without restrictions. They think of citizens as nothing more then sources of cheap labor and revenue! The current leaders only want to protect corporate profit. Our current leaders believe the only function of government is to enhance the freedom of business.
Why would anyone want to put $ into a business that claims is losing billions? Postal Banking would be a complete disaster. Mb the P.O. can get into health care next.
No way…Go to a Real Bank..losers!!!
