Service will be suspended Wednesday in parts of Minnesota, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois (including parts of Chicago), Wisconsin, Ohio, Iowa, the Dakotas and Nebraska.
In addition to deliveries, pickups from businesses, residences and collection boxes are also suspended.
Weather forecasters are warning of dangerously cold conditions in parts of the nation. Some places could see wind chill readings as low as 60 below zero. Due to this arctic outbreak and concerns for the safety of USPS employees, the Postal Service is suspending delivery Jan. 30 in the following 3-digit ZIP Code locations:

USPS will suspend delivery in some places Jan. 30 due to dangerously cold weather.
I remember on 19 January, 1994 our Prickmaster forced the carriers out to deliver the mail. The temperature was twenty one degrees below zero. One of the carriers came down with frost bite. Guess what the Prickmaster did next? He placed the carrier up for removal, “unsafe work practice”. It was her fault, she wasn’t careful! The union beat the donut shoving bastard! Time wounds all heels. It will be his turn!
