12/11/2019 URBANDALE, Iowa — The U.S. Postal Service said workers are now on the job seven days-a-week delivering 13 billion pieces of mail and packages.

In the past five years, specific package deliveries have increased from 4 billion to 6 billion.

“We call this our Superbowl, so its our busiest time of year,” said Michael Behrend, with USPS.

The postal service gave KCCI a rare behind the scenes look at its operation.

During the holiday more than 500 men and women work to make sure packages get to the right place at the right time.
