ATLANTA — The Office of the Inspector General is investigating after a man found a pile of mail thrown in a wooded area outside his northeast Atlanta neighborhood.

Allen Morgan said he was taking his dog for a walk along Fisher Trail Wednesday morning when he noticed something in the woods.

“There were bank statements, things that looked like bills, then a lot of … looked like Christmas cards maybe or something,” Morgan said.

But the mail appeared to be unopened.
