The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man who they say robbed the Benson Post Office at gunpoint Saturday morning.
The Post Office at 106 Connolly Rd. in Benson, MD was robbed around 9:35 a.m. on Saturday, according to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
Postal Inspectors and Maryland State Police are jointly investigating the incident, in which a lone suspect entered the post office, displayed a handgun and “vaulted the retail counter.” The suspect initially fled on foot across Harford Road, where he was seen escaping in a silver or gray pickup truck, officials said.
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service said he was armed with a handgun. No one was injured in the incident.
