But residents in a part of Conroe say a back log has forced them without mail for days. And they are not the only ones unhappy about it. In recent weeks, people in Conroe have noticed a change at the local post office. “Seems like we’re not getting our mail on time,” said customer Willie Pye.
skip clift/customer: “I have noticed at the counter they don’t keep as many people working as normal,” added customer Skip Clift.
According to three different postal employees we spoke with, workers there have been told they can no longer work longer than an eight-hour shift. Others, like Laura Watts, have had their hours cut.
“It’s just stressful,” she told us. “The demand to carry so much mail. I’m not taking my breaks, my lunch. They put too much pressure on you.”
Watts says she’d had enough and walked off the job Wednesday. Another employee asked us to conceal her identity, worried about retaliation, but says morale at the office has suffered.
Conroe residents wonder where the mail is
Employees and management keeps fighting but all the problems are created at the top level both by union and higher ups, Executives in USPS.

It is funny to listen to both mgmt and craft argue back and forth about who is better than who. Its funny that everyone can’t sit down together and figure out the wows of the post office. In my office I am a lvl 21 PM. My carriers give good input on many issues and topics about how things can be done more efficient and smarter. I think the problem with a lot of employees is that they have had a bad experience with their recent management. Now my employees understand that not all things are plausable to take change also.
Everyone, you’ll have to forgive nuttin’s postings.
Like all the EAS/mgmt bozos these days, they finally know they contribute absolutely nothing to moving the mail or postal operations, and are therefore completely expendable.
They’re all running scared these days, with a deer caught in the headlights mentality, trying to justify their existence.
With a little luck, they’ll get riffed. It won’t affect operations one bit.
Here’s hoping.
LOL, oh man you’re a real piece of work nuttin.
Clueless like most of your kind of course. I’ve seen more college degree craft workers than I have mgmt. slugs, by a large number, so save your education lies.
Good luck with your next job. I can see the interview now: “So, let me get this straight. You got paid that much, to sit on your ass in front of a pc, fill out a few meaningless reports, and then screw off the rest of the day ? And you received bonuses for this ?!?
Thank your for your resume, but you’re not qualified for this opening. We do have a custodial job you may qualify for though.”
But thanks anyway nuttin; your posting here shows the entire world where the real source of the USPS’s problems are.
To all you CRY BABY crap, im sorry….CRAFT employees, shut your pie holes and continue what you are paid to do, which is complain about management!!! Again, you chose this line of work!! Stop at Wendy’s and fill out an application. You will be much better suited asking: “would you like your order super sized”, rather than complaining about your high school educated job!
Gotta love it when a postal mismanager, aka don’t know nuttin, complains about someone not working eight hours a day.
Takes EAS/mgmt. a week minimum to do that much.
Gone are the days that I was proud to work at the Post Office – No one cares about anything but their own bottom line – retiring as soon as possible – what a terrible place to work – the PSE and PTF clerks are forced to go to several different offices, postmasters in small offices have all lost their jobs, now the PO wants to change the health insurance for retired employees to save themselves money – what a horrible place to work
Dear I don’t know nottin ,why is it when management screws up they are promoted higher level and never disciplined? I was called into the office for a letter of warning for not scanning a parcel on my day off! Lazy imbecile could not even look to see who was on the route that day! When the Cleveland Postal drug sting ended 18 Postal employees were found that they never did anything wrong. Two Postal Inspectors were fired and the management that was responsible to see that the operation was done right was never held accountable. They should have also been fired! So for every one bad employee, there is ten terrible managers!
I don’t know nuttin, first, perfect nick for you.
Second, you could have every craft employee screw off every day, and it would still be a drop in the bucket compared to the waste, theft, corruption, and graft that mgmt slugs do.
I do more work in a day than you clowns do…………period.
Also nice to see you have the typical, uneducated, tyrannical mgmt. attitude.
Got news for you bozo; no matter the volume, someone still has to deliver the mail, and that’s us, not you losers.
You so called managers wouldn’t even be hired as workers at BK, etc.
I also never said I was unhappy with my job moron. I am PISSED at completely unaccountable actions, theft, etc. done by the likes of you and your co”workers”, who are the SOLE reason for the USPS decline.
Nice try at the diversion.
Go harass the real workers, as usual, in whatever hell hole you’ve created.
I eat mgmt scum like you on a daily basis.
Keep closing those plants, mail is bring delayed everywhere they have consolidated processing.
I love when I read about carriers working through lunch and breaks. What fools!!
TSP,
The ‘numbers’ you are referring to for EAS employees HAVE changed, just as the craft numbers have changed…..through ATTRITION!! No one is losing their jobs or getting laid-off. They are leaving on their own accord!!
What’s criminal, is not getting 8 hours of work for 8 hours of pay from the craft employees. They are ALL “overworked & underpaid”!
You sound like you’re a craft employee TSP, am I right?? If so, if you are unhappy in your job and if it’s as bad as you say, then go find a different line of work!! Whats keeping you working in the PO? Burger King and McDonalds are always hiring!
Remember, YOU chose the PO, the PO didn’t knock on your door and offer you the job!
IF the 1st comment were right, and could implement ? W O W ! What a grand solution ! !
Meanwhile, the corrupt, unethical, stealing (literally) postal mgmt and eas ranks, continue on without any changes to their numbers.
Worker ranks have been slashed nationwide. Mgmt. ? They’ve actually grown almost eight percent……..
It’s criminal, what is happening at the USPS.
RIF vast numbers of EAS/mgmt. The savings would be outstanding, and operations would not be affected at all.
