NORTH TEXAS (CBS 11 NEWS) An estimated $450,000 in jewelry, stones and precious metals that disappeared in the mail, has been connected to a U.S. Postal Service delivery truck driver in Fort Worth.
A federal judge accepted a guilty plea from Hubert McDonald this week, after an investigation that lasted more than two years.
Federal court documents say packages sent to Fort Worth from Cash America pawn shops all over the country started disappearing in June of 2011. The packages were never seen again once they left the USPS Processing and Distribution Center on Mark IV Parkway. Investigators discovered McDonald was the truck driver on duty when the packages disappeared.
Between August 2011 and January 2012, investigators found 29 other pawn transactions. In that time McDonald deposited $42,400 into his bank account, while making just $16,681 from his job at the post office.

Don’t ya love how supervisors come on here and insult employees? Capt Jack for example, it amazes me that we are a company to serve the people of our country. How many news articles have you seen lately of carriers vs supervisors? I don’t know about you. But I see way more supervisors stealing and making side deals to gain monetary kickbacks than carrier issues. Oh wait. It’s because most stories about carriers are about how they are working 10-16 hour days because management won’t hire anyone to fill all the vacancies.
Let’s shut down some more processing facilities and start carriers even later. Yeah. That’ll work. Carriers only 5 years ago started at 6am. Now its 8am and they are threatening even later start times. Common sense tells us that its easier to deliver in the dark than during daylight hours, right?
And CCA’s. I truly feel bad as these guys turnover rate is crazy due to the stress/abuse they are going thru. They are burnt out and now they are going to work them on Sundays too? I have CCA’s that I know working 6 12 hour days currently BEFORE the Sunday delivery program starts.
But hey Jack. I’m sure you still work the same cushy hours and nothing has changed for you. Must be nice to have nothing better to do.
Most likely this McDonald guy was a Highway Contract driver, not a career worker.
Most carriers just steal time– 4 – 5 hours every day. This guy was in a hurry to catch up.
The numbers don’t seem to add up.
Why didn’t he just do overtime, that
Would have been close to $300,000
No worries…the union will get him off!
sorry employees
Hire more non career emloyees
