PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. – A postal worker in Paulding County has been arrested after allegedly stealing mail.

The Office of the Inspector General with the U.S. Postal Service said that Vanessa Locklear had about 500 pieces of mail when she was arrested at the post office on Saturday.

“Credit cards, debit cards, social security numbers, birth certificates,” said Sgt. Bill Gorman of the Dallas, Ga. Police Department.

The bulk of the missing mail was found at Locklear’s Rockmart home, authorities said. Gorman said that Locklear’s husband contacted authorities.

Police and postal officials said they also found mail in Locklear’s car, in the floorboards and in the glove box.
