During open season, you will be able to sign up for Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) plans, make changes to your current coverage, or consider a new plan.
Human Resources advises you to spend your health care dollars wisely, by reviewing your situation so that you have the right coverage without paying too much by over-insuring.
You will receive the open season Guide to Benefits and PostalEASE FEHB Worksheet — mailed to your home address of record — with more details about FEHB plans. The Guide to Benefits and the worksheet also can be viewed online on LiteBlue at “My HR” on the FEHB homepage.
Once you find the plans that are available within your ZIP Code, select several and compare them. Make sure to review each plan’s summary of benefits, including the bi-weekly premium cost. It’s important to choose the best value plan for individual or family needs.
FEHB selections are made using PostalEASE, LiteBlue or the PostalEASE self-service phone (877-477-3273, option 1). Kiosks also are available in some locations. You’ll need your employee identification number and USPS personal identification number to use the websites.

Additional FEHB information is available in the Nov. 1 issue of Postal Bulletin. You also can review brochures on the OPM website.
The open season for FEHB plans starts Nov. 12 and ends Dec. 11 at 5 p.m. central time.
