New York Postmaster Arrested on larceny, other charges

Marie Puccio, the postmaster of the Jamesport Post Office, was arrested Monday with a top charge of felony larceny, Riverhead Town Police Department reports.

The Jamesport postmaster, Marie Puccio, 52, of Rocky Point, is accused of falsifying her time sheet and stealing $60 in petty cash over a period of time, according to Riverhead Police Det. David Freeborn.  The alleged false time sheet entries totaled $1,935 in wages, he said.  Puccio, a 30-year employee at the Jamesport Post Office, is  facing one count of grand larceny in the fourth degree, one count of petit larceny, one count of falsifying business records in the second degree and one count of official misconduct, according to a police press release.
