Earlier this year USPS wrote: “The first phase of activities will result in up to 140 consolidations through February of 2013. Unless the circumstances of the Postal Service change in the interim, a second and final phase of 89 consolidations is currently scheduled to begin in February of 2014.” The current list has been reduced to 81 facilities down from the initial 140–a difference of 59.
Yesterday, the Mail Handlers Union reported:
By letter dated November 16, the Postal Service has notified the NPMHU of an updated list of facilities that will be impacted in February 2013. The NPMHU will be meeting with Postal Headquarters to determine the impacts, by Installation, and to ensure that all appropriate Contractual provisions are adhered to regarding the affected Mail Handlers. The letter, and the updated list may be accessed here. (Click Here for PDF)
