Pennsylvania Postmaster accused of mail theft

A postmaster from a Clearfield County post office is accused of stealing mail.

Jodi Cavazza who allegedly took mail from 12 different customers in the Rockton area and stole money, gift cards and lottery tickets, police said.

Residents from the area are now saying they do not feel safe to use the mail after the incident.

“The investigation started when one or two people had come forward where they had some birthday cards where they were missing money, gift cards,” Pennsylvania State Police DuBois Cpl. Gregory Raybuck said. “That kind of thing.”

Police said Cavazza’s crime spree started last March, at times not even delivering the mail and often times resealing the envelopes.

“With their help we were able to identify Jody Cavazza as a suspect at the time,” Raybuck said.
