3/9/16 PONTIAC, Mich. (WXYZ) – American Postal Workers Union leaders are demanding more answers and further investigation after five US Postal Workers at the mail center in Pontiac have died on the job.
These deaths happened in a 14-month time frame, the latest occurring in October of 2015.
Area Local 480-481 Union President Roscoe Woods tells us there was concern over the methane detection system.
According to a report by the Office of the Inspector General, the system had not been working correctly since March of 2015. Woods says an investigation recently concluded, finding the gas level safe, and no health concerns.
He still finds it alarming how many workers, some his friends, have died on the job in a short period of time.

The idea is to eliminate the seasoned workers. The building was built on a toxic poisoned dump (Michigan’s version of The Love Canal). Those employees could be more susceptible to exaggerated ailments due to exposure, along with their natural ailments. Shall we call them Test Tube Babies!
Should I have my doctor test me for the gas problem?. I retired 3
Years ago but always had a cold , lung problems and heart trouble at the plant.
the PO Mismanagers got a PFP bonus to make the numbers go up……..these evil bastards will do anything to get more cash. These PO Mismanager bums are 1000% more evil than creeps at the Govt VA Hospital System. I would sell off both. PO goes to UPS and FDX. VA goes to a veteran “Gold Card” that can be used at any Hospital in the USA! give the VA Hospital System to the Cleveland Clinic…..let them run it.
Mgmt. will do what they always do: Deceive, Deflect, and Deny.
And as usual, no one will be held accountable.
You should check out the gmf in Pittsburgh 1001 California avenue Pittsburgh 15212 PA. That facility has asbestos and the late 90s and into 2008 asbestos removal in certain areas many employees died of cancer and some were fortunate to still live where others died. We saw the particles flying in the air, their ventilation system sucked ask employees still their and trust me ask some of the retired ones we know those make shift wood houses with plastic what a joke
