Armed robbery reported at Taylor Ridge, IL Post Office
TAYLOR RIDGE, IL – Two employees at the Taylor Ridge Post Office in Rock Island County, Illinois were robbed at gunpoint.
Shortly after 8:30 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015 a male with a handgun went into the Taylor Ridge Post Office and demanded money, according to a statement from the Rock Island County Sheriff.
There were two employees inside the building when the armed robbery happened, said Communications Specialist for the U.S. Postal Service, Stacey St. John. The alleged robber reportedly forced his way into their work space.
The Sheriffs statement indicated that the male did get away with some money, but it was not clear how much. It was also not clear where he went or what type of transportation he may have had.

Anyone paying attention to such postal “robberies” for, say, the past twenty years, might figure the odds at about 80% that this alleged “robbery” was an inside job, generally to cover up long-term pilfering of cash from the USPS.
