11/19/19 SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO – A 40-year-old man is slated to appear in federal court next month on a charge he assaulted a U.S. Postal Service letter carrier in South San Francisco.
When the letter carrier reached the rear of his vehicle, he turned around and found Alvarado standing behind him. Singh said Alvarado then hit the letter carrier one time in the left eye and one time in the lower right jaw with a closed fist. The letter carrier was also reportedly hit a couple of times on the right side of his body as he fell to the ground.
The letter carrier “stated that he was knocked out and lost consciousness,” said Singh.
Singh said the attack left the letter carrier with a fractured jaw, concussion, neck tenderness and a possible neck fracture.\
When he regained consciousness, the letter carrier reportedly heard Alvarado approach an Amazon delivery driver parked at the corner of Alta Loma and El Campo drives and ask him, “Do you want some of this?” Singh said the letter carrier then heard the young woman shout, “Dad, stop.”
The delivery driver ended up following and taking a picture of Alvarado, which was later used to identify him as a suspect in the case.
