Postal Workers, Culinary Union members protest outside of Trump hotel on Monday, October 12, 2015
October 12, 2015 More than 500 workers from the Culinary Union, the American Postal Workers Union and the Trump International Hotel lined up on Fashion Show Drive in Las Vegas, NV to protest the hotel’s no-union policy.
The Culinary Union and the Trump hotel have clashed over unionizing its workers for about a year. About 500 Trump International employees are working with the Culinary to unionize the hotel’s labor pool.
Culinary Union members, postal workers and the community rallied outside of the Trump Hotel to send a clear message to presidential candidate/hotel owner Donald Trump that workers deserve justice and respect!
Democratic Presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton, joined Culinary Union and Postal Workers at the protest yesterday in the fight to support working families.
Clinton said that workers have the right to organize and that she supported Trump workers fighting for a union.
All Democratic Presidential candidates, elected officials, and politicians from across the country, were invited to support the Trump Hotel workers and their organizing efforts.
The Culinary Union has yet to endorse a presidential candidate.
Also, Democratic Presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders is speaking to the APWU All-Craft Conference delegates on Wednesday morning, October 14, 2015 in Las Vegas.
The APWU National Presidents Conference (also in Las Vegas) delegates joined a growing number of APWU Locals endorsing Sanders for President.

If you are going to make ANY comment on what the APWU is doing be it a political endorsement or whatever please research and get the facts prior to letting your BS roll out as actual thoughts. The All craft conference and training just happened to be in the same city that was picked for the debate. NO union dues money can be or was used ever to endorse or support a political candidate.
I’m sorry, but I don’t buy Hillary Clinton’s little charade one damn bit. One thing I hated about Barack Obama and Bill Clinton was that they courted the AFL-CIO when it was election season, but Clinton signed NAFTA, and Obama pushed that Pacific Rim deal, both of which are designed not to increase trade but ship labor costs out of the country even more and cripple organized labor.
Hillary is too much an insider to be taken seriously. I don’t think she has the middle class interest at heart, and like any politician is only pandering for votes and then shitting on us, like every president has basically after Nixon, who at least helped postal reform and greatly increased wages and union power for postal workers. It goes without saying that a Republican who helped organized labor and founded the EPA would have been drawn and quartered in today’s Congress, where no GOP lawmaker has the interest or capability of seeing any side of an issue besides where his kickback is.
I hope Bernie Sanders continues to gain ground because he’s the most believable of the candidates, and while not exactly an outsider, his non-affiliation with either major party makes him at least a maverick in the eyes of potential voters. We need not worry too much about the “socialist” tag because nobody thoroughly brainwashed by FOX News or other GOP media source will vote for anybody who isn’t fuck nuts insane anyway. This is what happens when gullible idiots vote.
I think purely in the interest of working people everywhere, a great ticket however unelectable, would be Bernie Sanders and Russ Feingold, one of labor’s great fighters his whole political life. Meanwhile, take Hillary with a grain of salt but watch your back. She’s very intelligent and knows how to play the game.
This wait and vote for the Democratic nominee just makes organized labor look like puppets of the Democratic party. Votes and money they can depend on, then kneel down to Wall Street demands. I applaud the Presidents for taking a stand,and trying to direct the conversation towards better paying jobs and working conditions for all Americans.
This all such poltical BS. Y r they wasting union dues on hotel rooms and food? Wait until we know who the actual November 8,2016 U.S. presidential candidates,actual r,be making any such endorcements. And hopefully Dimondstein and his incompetent national slate will be voted out of office by then.
