October 4, 2019 FORNEY, Texas — The Forney community is mourning the loss of a long-time U.S. Post Office employee who tragically died in a single-vehicle crash in Dallas earlier this week.
If you’ve been to the U.S. Post Office in Forney, you were likely greeted by Moe’s contagious, beaming smile — one that won’t soon be forgotten.
37-year-old Mawonn “Moe” Demetrius Smith was on his way to work early Wednesday morning when his SUV overturned on Interstate Highway 30 at St. Francis Avenue in Dallas. According to Dallas County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Raul Reyna, Smith was pronounced deceased at the scene.
